Early life
González was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León and started playing American football at the age of six.[1] He was big for his age and played as a fullback for Halcones Monterrey. González moved to San Antonio. At the age of 12, he relocated to Texas with his family and participated in the middle school basketball team, but later returned to Mexico.[1]
Career
In Arlington, Texas, Gonzalez competed in the College Gridiron Showcase in January 2015, registering one sack and two solo tackles. He was subjected to several quarterback hurries in front of NFL scouts.[5] He attended an NFL Regional Combine in Houston the following month. Following Pro Day at the University of North Texas, González was invited to participate in Dallas Day.
